Welcome to Seed Enterprise Investment Scheme
The Seed Enterprise Investment Scheme (commonly shortened to ‘SEIS’) is a tax favourable funding source for early stage seed companies seeking financing.
Introduced from 6 April 2012, SEIS is an extension to the Enterprise Investment Scheme (‘EIS’) with more favourable income tax relief for investors and an introductory capital gains tax exemption in its first year. Although SEIS follows many of the same rules to EIS, there are certain additional restrictions given the more favourable tax breaks under SEIS.
